Starts and Sits - All Starting Pitcher Matchups for Fantasy Baseball (May 22 - May 28)

Luis Castillo - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Fantasy baseball starts/sits advice for all starting pitcher matchups for May 22 - May 28 (2023). Set optimal lineups with Jon's start/sit recommendations.

We are barreling towards warmer weather and full data samples! I'm growing more and more confident with my SP grades as we get more and more starts in the database every day. In this article, you'll find our starting pitcher starts/sits for Week 9 of the fantasy baseball season -- Monday, May 22 through Sunday, May 28.

For 11 years running, we have been writing this Starting Pitcher Starts and Sits series every week right here at RotoBaller. I'm Jon Anderson, back for my second year of handling the post. It's a lot of work, but a lot of fun and really informative and helpful for me to put it together every week. We get tons of great feedback on it every year.

If you're new here, read the below to get caught up on what this all is and how to best use it. If you're not new here, you're probably not even reading this paragraph because you've already skipped forward to the table!

Start/Sit Data Overview

Ahead of each week of the fantasy baseball season, we publish the table below. For every game of the week, we have the probable starters and a grade for them on a 0-100 scale. The intent is to give you advice and to inspire some confidence (or lack thereof) in your decisions to start or sit certain pitchers.

This table is automatically generated at first with an algorithm that I have written, but I do go through and fix things where they don't make sense. This year, I'm adding a third category that fits between "start" and "sit" and I'm calling that "context-dependent." This is because different leagues call for different actions.

If you are in a league with 300-player rosters, you are starting a lot fewer SPs than in a league with 500 players rostered, for example. The "starts" are pitchers you start in every league, the "sits" are pitchers you sit in every league, and the "context-dependent" means I'm on the fence and it's up to you to decide based on your league settings. Let's get to it -- here are your starts and sits for what we're calling Week 9 of the fantasy season -- this week covers May 22 through May 28.

Week 9 Start/Sit Recommendations
