The Washington Commanders are dealing with numerous injuries leading up to their Week 7 clash against the Dallas Cowboys.
Before they take the field, the team has already ruled out top wide receivers Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel), which will leave the WR room quite shorthanded.
Should you pick up Luke McCaffrey or Chris Moore ahead of Week 7? Let's dive in.

Luke McCaffrey Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
McCaffrey was drafted by the Commanders in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Rice. As a rookie, McCaffrey has a limited role, catching just 16 passes for a mere 168 yards as he spent most of his time playing behind McLaurin, Noah Brown, and Olamide Zaccheaus.
However, this season, with McLaurin missing time, McCaffrey has seen a larger role. Since Week 3, McCaffrey has averaged 10.3 PPR points per game. During this four-game stretch, McCaffrey has had the back of the ned zone three times but has only seen 2.3 targets per game. Seeing him earn red zone targets suggests that he should be in store for a career game with McLaurin and Samuel both sidelined.
Chris Moore Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
The other WR who should see an increase in opportunities on Sunday is the veteran Moore. The 32-year-old spent the 2024 campaign with the Cardinals but only appeared in five games and never caught a pass.
However, since joining D.C. this season, Moore has enjoyed a very productive stretch. Since Week 3, Moore has logged at least 38.0 offensive snaps per game, but has not had as many consistent opportunities as McCaffrey has seen. During this four-game stretch, Moore has only caught two or more passes in two of the games.
Despite his modest showings, Moore is coming off his most productive outing of the campaign, catching three of his five targets for 46 yards and a score during their loss to the Bears last Monday evening.
Should I Pickup Luke McCaffrey or Chris Moore For Fantasy Football?
While neither option has been a consistent fantasy contributor this season, given that both McLaurin and Samuel, and even the team's No. 3 WR, Brown (groin), are sidelined, McCaffrey and Moore could operate as the clear top options for Jayden Daniels.
Tight end Zach Ertz should see a bulk of the targets, but McCaffrey and Moore could push for a 75%+ snap share this afternoon, given the numerous injuries to their wide receiver room.
Facing a Dallas secondary that allowed the most PPR points to opposing WRs makes the Washington wideouts viable FLEX options. Given McCaffrey's nose for the endzone this season, he carries a slight edge over Moore. However, if the Commanders get into a shootout with Dallas, both wide receivers could provide a strong WR3 upside.
