Should I drop Jauan Jennings for fantasy football Week 7? Is Jauan Jennings a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ribs, ankle, ankle, shoulder) is, as you can already tell, dealing with a multitude of serious injuries early in his 2025 campaign.
Last week, they seemed to affect him pretty severely -- he was targeted just three times, catching one pass for seven yards and totaling 1.7 PPR fantasy points. It was his worst game of the season.
And from the look of things, it doesn't look like he'll be anywhere near full health this season. NFL players play through injuries all the time, and often still put up good production, but can Jennings do so moving forward?

Should I Drop Jauan Jennings in Fantasy Football?
In leagues with 10 or fewer teams, probably. In others, where it's worth having players with high upside on your bench, it's a more difficult question to answer. Unfortunately, Jennings is hurting badly right now. He should probably not play in order to protect his long-term health, but that's not something 49ers tend to do.
Jennings opened up about his injury issues in a recent interview. The reason I put ankle twice in his injury designation above, and included his shoulder, is that he's dealing with two ankle injuries, and specifically stated that one of his shoulders is severely compromised.
Jauan Jennings on playing with the following injuries:
“You know playing with injuries. It’s part of it. You got high and low ankle sprains. You got shoulders at 20%. Five broken ribs. It is what it is. You keep playing and nobody cares. Keep playing. That’s what we do.”

There haven't been specific timetables for his recoveries from the issues he has, but San Francisco has long been one of the most willing teams to trot its players out to play even when they're dealing with serious, serious aliments. Last season, linebacker Fred Warner (ankle) played through a fractured ankle for much of the season.
The injuries also often lead to more aliments. Playing professional football with major injuries is a recipe for disaster, and already-injured parts of the human body are often much more vulnerable to re-injury when put under stress.
Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?
At the wide receiver position, I would recommend picking up Jacksonville Jaguars WR Travis Hunter if he's been dropped. Many fantasy managers are frustrated with his lack of production so far, but he ran a season-high 88% of his team's routes in Week 6, and the Jaguars have verbally committed to getting more pass-catching work.
Another good stash is Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney (hamstring). He's likely to return to play in the next two weeks. He had eight games with double-digit PPR fantasy points last season, including a 31.5 PPR fantasy point detonation.

Another good player to target is Carolina Panthers WR Jalen Coker. He's set to retake his slot role, and has a solid matchup against the man-coverage heavy New York Jets in Week 7. You could also make a move for Las Vegas Raiders wideout Jakobi Meyers, who's been the subject of trade rumors recently.
If the New York Giants grab him, he could quickly become their WR1 and become a start-worthy player in fantasy.
