Los Angeles Rams - NFL Betting Analysis

Following a season where they wrapped up with a total record of just 5-12, the Rams are gearing up for their season opener. In the NFC-West, Los Angeles finished 3rd and posted a 1-5 record against their division opponents. On their home field, the Rams concluded with a 4-5 record, and when away from home, they went 1-7.

Los Angeles starting quarterback Matthew Stafford will taking over for Baker Mayfield who led the Rams in passing yards last season (2163) and is now on the Buccaneers. Last season, Stafford played in nine games and finished with 2087 yards on a completion percentage of 68.0%. In 2022, the Rams offense finished 18th in the NFL in third-down conversion rate (39.3%) and averaged 280.5 yards per game, putting them 21st in the league. On average, they threw the ball 31.2 times per game leading to 182.8 receiving yards per contest. Los Angeles' rushing attack finished 28th in yards per attempt.

The Rams' defense is coming off a season in which they were 19th in points allowed and gave up an average of 341.1 yards per game (18th). When looking at how they got after the quarterback, Los Angeles was 11th while also finishing 22nd in quarterback hits while hitting the QB on 13.5% of their dropbacks.

Los Angeles' over/under record last season wrapped up at 6-10-1 with their games averaging 40.6 points per contest. When looking at how they finished vs. the spread, they were 7-9-1 with an average scoring margin of -4.5 point per game.

Seattle Seahawks - NFL Betting Analysis

Looking back to last season, the Seahawks finished with a record of 9-8 and lost a Wild-Card round matchup with the 49ers (41-23). Seattle's road record last year was 4-5 and 5-4 at home. In the NFC-West, the Seahawks finished 2nd while going 4-3 in games within their division.

Last season, Geno Smith completed 69.8% of his passes for a total of 4282 yards. For the season, he finished 8th among QB's in passing yards and 3rd in touchdowns (30). Smith's passer rating for the season was 100.9 (9th). Seattle closed out last season as the 10th ranked offense in terms of points per game (23.9). In the passing game, the Seahawks averaged 231.2 while sitting 15th in attempts. For the season, they were 17th in terms of sacks allowed and 22nd in quarterback hits allowed. In the running game, Seattle averaged 119.2 rushing yards per contest.

The Seahawks are coming off a season in which they were 24th in points allowed. Opposing team's finished the year with an average of 24.6 points per game vs. the Seahawks defense. Seattle's run defense wrapped up the season 30th in the NFL, while opponents finished with a completion percentage of 62.7% vs. the Seahawks and a passer rating of 85.07.

Looking back to last season, the average over/under line for the Seahawks was 45.3 points leading to an over/under record of 9-9 for the Seahawks. Against the spread, Seattle was 7-11 with an average scoring margin of -0.7 point pere game.
