The PGA RotoBaller staff digs into their One and Done selections for The RBC Heritage. Here are some under-the-radar plays and picks for this week's event.

Here at RotoBaller, we are always searching for ways to give our readers the best fantasy sports content possible. With that goal in mind, we are very proud to announce the weekly PGA “One and Done” column will be back for the sixth season.

For an in-depth breakdown of the top DraftKings and FanDuel plays, check out Joe Nicely's weekly Horse For The Course, which highlights the best fits for the week's course. And you can also find out who the smart money is on by checking out Spencer Aguiar's PGA DFS: Vegas Report every week.

One and Done Selections - The RBC Heritage

In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Joe Idone, Matt Miller, Byron Lindeque, and our special guest will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!

Joe Nicely - Tommy Fleetwood

In a weird twist of fate, I’ve always sensed that Tommy Lad’s best chance to break through on U.S. soil was on an “island”, Hilton Head Island, to be exact. The Englishman’s game is suited perfectly for this claustrophobic Harbour Town layout that requires precision off the tee, sharp iron play, and a rock-solid short game, all boxes that Fleetwood emphatically checks.

He’s gone T15-T10 over his last two Heritage starts on a layout that’s not a great fit for
everyone, even in a stacked Signature Event field such as this week’s. In addition to the course history, Fleetwood comes in off a stress-free T3 at Augusta National and a T7 at Valero two weeks ago. He’s too good a player not to eventually win on the PGA Tour and this could well be the week.

Yearly Earnings - $5,571,176
Yearly Cuts Made - 12/14

Joe Idone

Yearly Earnings - $1,805,295
Yearly Cuts Made - 8/14

Spencer Aguiar - Xander Schauffele

Alternate - Patrick Cantlay

Nothing beats a One & Done stance like putting the two recent lack of win equity brothers together as my main pick and alternate.

I've made this argument for the past few weeks when talking about Xander, but the lack of recent win equity presents such a weird dynamic because we are consistently landing at this same crossroads juncture. Books are masking the odds to avoid exposure from sharp bettors, but a lot of sharp money continues to drive Schauffele down even further on these value-reduced boards.

I get the concerns about his lack of perceived win equity, but Schauffele is essentially the 1B version of Scheffler in my model and only gets less hype to actually win because we haven't seen him cross the finish line since 2022.

I expect people to use him here because of the earnings potential, but I just think the ceiling is higher than most.

Yearly Earnings - $5,721,464
Yearly Cuts Made - 13/14

Matt Miller - Cam Young

This week I am taking Cam Young. Four top ten finishes in his last seven starts tells us all we need to know about his form. Can Young finally get one across the finish line? That is a whole different conversation, but with the way he's hitting the ball he seems destined for another top ten finish.
In nine starts in 2024, Young has lost strokes on approach just one time. He has also only lost strokes off the tee one time. The ball striking has been there all year and I do not expect that to stop this week. He finished 3rd here in 2022 and 51st last year, despite gaining strokes both off the tee and on approach.

Yearly Earnings - $2,348,733
Yearly Cuts Made - 11/14

Byron Lindeque - Brooks Koepka

This just sums up my OAD season. Any guesses which of the last six tournaments I chose Scheffler as my guy? Not the T3, not the T2, not the 3 WINS, but instead, a measly T10 at the Genesis.

Brooks Koepka did NOTHING at the Masters despite his impeccable major track record, limping to a T45, shooting over par in all four of his rounds. What. A. Loser-like performance from the guys with 13 major top-10s since 2017 (he’s winning the US Open).

So, since I am in last place in our contest and forgot to submit multiple (personal) picks once March rolled through, we are back in desperation mode and we are going to the big gun that nobody wants to holster right now - Rory McIlroy! He can win in just about any environment or layout but outside of his 3rd at the Valero, his next best finish this year has been a T19, at another shorter course.

But, there is one thing that is different with Rory this week compared to the start of the year - the Masters is now 11 months and 3 weeks away. He can relax. He has the suffocating weight of a probable green jacket making one of the greatest golfers of our generation look like an average touring pro.. No better place to raise the anchor that is the expectation of a Green Jacket / Grand Slam than at Harbour Town!

Yearly Earnings - $1,689,924
Yearly Cuts Made - 11/14

Mia The Model - Rory McIlroy

Alternate - Ludvig Aberg

Byron T20

TeeOff T20
