The PGA RotoBaller staff digs into their One and Done selections for the BMW Championship. Here are some under the radar plays and picks for this week's event.

With that goal in mind, we are very proud to announce the addition of a weekly PGA “One and Done” column. In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar and Gianni Magliocco will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!

Welcome to the penultimate week! Joe and Spencer scored big last week with their respective picks of Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth, and Joe now has a healthy lead as he looks to close out victory in the inaugural Rotoballer OAD contest. It was Groundhog Day for myself, as my pick of Woodland at Liberty National did nothing after scraping it past the midway cut.

2019 BMW Championship

Medinah Country Club (Course No. 3)

7,613 Yards - Par 72 - Greens Bentgrass

At almost 7,650 yards, Medinah is a big boys course, and the plethora of trees guarding the fairways make play off the tee crucial. Water comes into play on five holes, and all the par-fives are reachable in firm conditions. There is no doubt that those who can hit it long are going to have an advantage this week.

One and Done Selections

Last week’s pick Justin Rose came through with a solid T10 outing at the Northern Trust that was good for a juicy payday of $240k. It was good enough to help me protect my small lead in our RotoBaller OAD contest, but with the big payouts available in these last couple of tournaments things are far from over. I’m in a weird spot this week. I have the lead and several solid players available to me for the BMW Championship, BUT - and it’s a big but - I have to ensure that I leave myself at least a couple of options for next week’s TOUR Championship.

With only the top-30 players advancing to East Lake, and most of them being elite players that I’ve already used, I could theoretically be put in a position where I have no players available to me in the last event of the season. I’m gonna try to do that by going with a player that’s a long shot to qualify for the season finale, while leaving myself as many players as possible that might be in the top-30 next week.

Joaquin Niemann was literally the last man in this field at 70th in the FedEx Cup points standings, but the young gun from Chile has the type of talent to put himself in the mix at the BMW. Niemann has been playing at an elite level for the last couple of months and ranks an impressive ninth in this deep field in Strokes Gained: Total over his last 24 rounds. He’s solid both off the tee and with his irons, especially on approach shots of over 200 yards, which will be of the utmost importance on a tough Medinah layout this week. I would normally be a little more conservative with my current position in our contest, but my concerns about next week are sort of forcing my hand here, not to mention that conservative has never really been my style anyway. - Joe Nicely

Spencer Aguiar - Billy Horschel

Alternate - Louis Oosthuizen 

The clock has officially struck midnight on me in this year's OAD contest. I don't have enough money left on the table to catch either Joe or Gianni and will have to settle for a third-place showing. But hey! Not all is lost. The other two won't be able to match my 30 total cashes this season, so some might say I am actually the real winner when all is said and done.

My options are somewhat limited this week, but the nice thing about this competition is that you will never run out of players entirely. I didn't foresee Billy Horschel being someone I would end up on during the most significant stretch of the season, but I do believe there is some contrarian upside to be had on the former Florida Gator.

The winner of the 2014 FedExCup title, Horschel captured the BMW Championship and Tour Championship en route to the victory, and although his success at this event was held at an entirely different course five years ago, the 32-year-old has shown the propensity to end the season with strong form. Horschel is currently just outside the top 30 and will need a big showing at Medinah if he wants to get another crack at East Lake in 2019, but with seven top-25 results in his past nine events, I wouldn't count him out from finding a way to book his ticket to Atlanta.  -Spencer Aguiar

I'm in trouble. Joe has grabbed hold of this event, and I'll need back-to-back big weeks if I'm going to have a chance at winning this contest.

All is not lost though, and I'm playing Jon Rahm this week. Rahm is on an incredible run of not finishing worse than T11 in his previous six starts. I'm either jumping on too late or at the perfect time. I think we all know it's the latter.

Rahm is having a big week and getting me closer to Joe, who deserves massive credit for surpassing the 10 million mark in this contest. Brilliant work, man! - Gianni Magliocco
