Quarterback-Only 2024 NFL Mock Draft – Projecting Landing Spots For Top 10 QB Prospects

Drake Maye - Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, QB, NFL Draft Sleepers

Mike Fanelli takes a look at where the top-10 quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft could land.

The 2024 NFL Draft is less than two months away. With the NFL Combine wrapping up in Indianapolis, draft prospects will have only a few more opportunities to impress teams.

While this year’s draft class is deep in several areas, the quarterback position is loaded with elite talent. Most NFL mock drafts project at least four first-round quarterbacks, with several including five or six.

Unlike most NFL mock drafts, this one solely focuses on the quarterback position. Let’s look at where the top-10 quarterbacks from the 2024 NFL Draft could land.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Caleb Williams, USC

Williams is all but a lock to be the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The only question left is which team he plays for next year. Reportedly, the Chicago Bears will hold onto the top pick and trade Justin Fields. The former USC star didn’t have the 2023 season many had hoped for. Yet, he still had 8,170 passing yards, 72 touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions in his two years at USC. Williams could always become a reporter if playing quarterback doesn’t work out for him.

Projected Landing Spot – Chicago Bears (First Overall)

Jayden Daniels, LSU

While Caleb Williams and Drake Maye were presumed top draft picks since last May, Daniels had a breakout final year at LSU. He completed 72.2% of his pass attempts for 2,812 yards, 40 touchdowns, and a 208 quarterback rating, setting career highs in every category. Furthermore, the star quarterback had a 10-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio last season. Many believe he is the second-best quarterback in the draft class. While nothing will be final until late April, don’t be surprised if Daniels ends up with the Washington Commanders.

Projected Landing Spot – Washington Commanders (Second Overall)

Drake Maye, UNC

Despite all the negative commentary about him on social media, Maye will be a top draft pick in April. The former UNC star might not be a lock for the second overall selection like he was several months ago, but he won’t slide out of the top four. Maye saw his production decline from 2022 to 2023 after losing Josh Downs and others to the NFL. However, he still put up impressive numbers, including a career-high nine rushing touchdowns last year.

Projected Landing Spot – New England Patriots (Third Overall)

J.J. McCarthy, Michigan

The 2024 NFL Draft is still nearly two months away. While much could change between today and late April, McCarthy has been one of the top risers during the pre-draft process. He was considered a borderline first-round pick back in late January. Many in NFL circles now believe the former Michigan star will be a top-10 draft selection. If the Atlanta Falcons end up trading for Justin Fields, as many believe, don’t be surprised if they trade their pick for someone targeting McCarthy.

Projected Landing Spot – Minnesota Vikings (Eighth Overall via Trade)

Bo Nix, Oregon

Nix is the first of two quarterbacks that could be Day 1 or Day 2 selections. The former Oregon star was outstanding last season, totaling 4,508 passing yards, 45 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. He also had 20 rushing scores in his two years at Oregon. However, Nix’s time at Auburn was disappointing. He won’t be a top-15 draft pick. Yet, don’t be surprised if a team with a veteran quarterback trades back into the late first round to select the Oregon product.

Projected Landing Spot – Los Angeles Rams (28th Overall via Trade)

Michael Penix Jr., Washington

Unfortunately, Penix’s medical history will impact his draft stock, as some teams will take him off their draft board because of it. He suffered a season-ending injury in all four years at Indiana. Yet, Penix was outstanding during his time at Washington, especially in the playoff game against Texas. He totaled 67 passing touchdowns to 19 interceptions during his two years at Washington. His former offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb, now works for the Seattle Seahawks, making them a popular team to select Penix in mock drafts.

Projected Landing Spot – Seattle Seahawks (37th Overall via Trade)

Spencer Rattler, South Carolina

While the first six quarterbacks project as top-50 draft picks, Rattler will likely have to wait until the third round to hear his name called. He started his career at Oklahoma before losing the starting job to Caleb Williams. Rattler transferred to South Carolina and rebuilt his draft stock, totaling 6,212 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions in two years with the program. Some believe he is a better prospect than Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr.

Projected Landing Spot – New York Giants (70th Overall)

Michael Pratt, Tulane

Pratt hasn’t gotten the national attention as several other quarterbacks have in this draft class. However, he had an impressive college career, totaling 9,611 passing yards, 90 touchdowns, and only 26 interceptions in four years at Tulane. Some view Pratt as a low-end, starting-caliber prospect, while others see him as a high-end backup. Regardless of how teams view the former Tulane star, he could be a Day 2 pick. There were over 60 starting quarterbacks in the NFL last season, making having a talented backup critical.

Projected Landing Spot – Denver Broncos (81st Overall)

Jordan Travis, Florida State

While he played a massive role in Florida State’s undefeated 2023 regular season, Travis won't be a top-100 pick in April. The former Florida State star is coming off a massive lower-leg injury in his final college home game. Travis told the media at the NFL Combine that he should be ready to go around May or June. While many teams won’t consider him a franchise-caliber quarterback, fans should expect him to get drafted around the same range as Aidan O'Connell last year.

Projected Landing Spot – New York Jets (112th Overall)

Joe Milton III, Tennessee

The former Tennessee star received significant hype a year ago at this time. Hendon Hooker was heading to the NFL, and Milton flashed potential in limited action. After totaling 10 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions in 2022, many thought the former Tennessee quarterback was a Heisman Trophy contender and a surefire breakout candidate. However, Milton struggled with reading defenses and his accuracy. Yet, some teams will take a shot on him during Day 3 because of his massive arm strength.

Projected Landing Spot – Las Vegas Raiders (209th Overall)
