Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Bryce Elder more than 4.5 strikeouts
I am getting back on the Bryce Elder train tonight, even after he killed me in his last starts against the Marlins. Miami has been struggling vs. right-handers as noted by their 24.5% K rate and 84 wRC+ against them over the previous two weeks, both of which rank in the bottom half of the league. Elder has reached this total in three of his first five starts and has gone more than five innings pitched in every start thus far.
Matt Strahm more than 5.5 strikeouts
Matt Strahm has been superb thus far posting a 2.32 ERA with 32 strikeouts across his first 23 1/3 innings pitched. He has eclipsed this total in three of his previous four starts and has a tremendous matchup for strikeouts against the Dodgers tonight. Over the previous two weeks, the Dodgers are posting the highest K rate against left-handers with a rate of 37.8%. They are also posting an unheard-of wRC+ mark of just eight, which is something. These stats are also across 98 plate appearances, which tells us the Dodgers are really struggling.
Michael Wacha more than 4.5 strikeouts
This play is a bit risky as you never quite know which Michael Wacha you are going to get, the one that struck out 10 Braves while allowing just two hits over six innings pitched or the one that allowed seven earned runs to the Brewers over 4 1/3 innings pitched. The matchup tonight is a solid one against the Reds as they have posted the seventh-highest K rate (26.5%) vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks while also posting a lackluster 61 wRC+ mark. Wacha has also hit this total in two of his previous four starts.
Ryan Mountcastle more than 7.5 hitter fantasy score
Mountcastle is heating up as he has hits in nine of his 10 previous games. He will be up against left-hander Ryan Yarbrough and the fifth-worst pen in the league in the Kansas City Royals. Since 2021, Mountcastle has posted an .800 OPS with 22 home runs across 409 plate appearances against southpaws. Meanwhile, Yarbrough has allowed a .289 BAA and 34 bombs to right-handed hitters since 2021.
