With that said, let’s dive into this alternate event as I break down my betting card for the 2026 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic!
Outright Selections
Davis Thompson (+1700) - DraftKings
Davis Thompson leads off the card this week after an impressive stretch of form, finishing T14 at the Valero Texas Open and T6 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where he teamed with Austin Eckroat.
At the Valero, Thompson ranked 9th in SG: Off the Tee, 10th in SG: Approach, 18th in SG: Around the Green, and 63rd in SG: Putting. The putter has been the weakest part of his profile, but he has shown the ability to spike with the flat stick, which is important in an alternate-field event like this.
He also played well earlier this season at another alternate event, finishing 4th at the Puerto Rico Open, further showing he can contend in weaker fields.
Thompson also has a strong course history here, finishing T2 in 2024. He has the ball striking and driving distance to compete again this week, with the main question being whether he can get enough out of the putter. While that remains a swing factor, the rest of his game is in strong form, which helps narrow the variance.
Over his last 24 rounds, Thompson ranks 18th in SG: Off the Tee, 20th in SG: Approach, and 30th in Driving Distance. He also ranks 1st in SG: Par 4s (451–500 yards) and 2nd in SG: Par 5s (551–600 yards), both key scoring ranges for this course setup.
