Oneil Cruz - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB DFS Picks, MLB Injuries

Zach's best MLB player prop bets for today (5/27/2026). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Oneil Cruz, Miguel Vargas, and others!

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Major League Baseball is winding down the month of May with a big week of baseball, and this Wednesday, the action is set to stretch from just after 1:00 p.m. ET until around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday. It's a jam-packed day of wall-to-wall baseball, which sets up beautifully for home runs props!

In this article, I'll focus on four home run spots that I think are strong plays this Wednesday night from all across Major League Baseball's schedule. Make sure to check out the RotoBaller Discord, where you can find input from all our experts, which could include more home run spots as well as some great strikeout picks.

Below, you'll be able to read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The current odds given reflect the best price as of the time of publication, but remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks so you can get the most value on your home run wagers. Odds can vary significantly from one sportsbook to another.

MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (5/27/2026)

Oneil Cruz OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+488 Kalshi)

The Pirates have taken the first two games in their home series against the Cubs, and they'll face Jameson Taillon in the third game of this four-game set on Wednesday night. Taillon has the highest HR/9 of all of Wednesday's probable starting pitchers, and he's a good option to attack since he's giving up lots of hard contact this season.

Cruz is always a home run threat since he makes such outstanding contact on a regular basis. He has a league-leading 61.4% hard-hit rate along with a 16.7% barrel rate this season and his average exit velocity of 96.1 mph is the second-highest in the majors, behind only James Wood's average exit velocity.

Cruz has launched 11 homers this season, with his most recent on Sunday in Toronto:

Cruz dropped down in the order during that Blue Jays series as the Pirates moved rookie Konnor Griffin to the leadoff spot. Cruz responded with that home run out of the fifth spot in the order and then went 5-for-7 in the first two games of this series against Chicago, continuing to make great contact in almost every at-bat. Cruz is locked in at the plate, and the new-look lineup could help him increase his run production value from a lower spot in the lineup.

He'll be in a good spot Wednesday night against Taillon, whom he has gone just 1-for-16 against, but that one hit was a home run. Taillon has allowed 17 homers in his 10 starts this season, with 10 of those homers in his five road starts, where he has a 6.04 ERA. Lefties like Cruz have hit 10 of the 17 homers against Taillon this season, with a .333 ISO, .385 wOBA, and 16.7% barrel rate.

Since Cruz has been catching so many barrels and Taillon has been giving up so many to lefties, the splits and form make Cruz a great spot to target for home run props. He brings decent value over +450 as well, coming into the day.

Miguel Vargas OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+438 DraftKings)

The White Sox have been one of the most fun lineups to target for home run props as they've improved to a .500 team through the first 54 games of the season, strong enough for second place in the AL Central and currently in an AL Wild Card spot. The power surge in their young lineup has been led by lefties Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery, but from the right side, Miguel Vargas has also been very productive, especially against left-handed pitchers.

On Wednesday, the White Sox take on lefty Connor Prielipp in the third game of their four-game home series against the Twins. Vargas has gone 0-for-9 with a strikeout in the first two games of the series, but he has a good chance to turn things around against Prielipp on Wednesday night.

Prielipp is 1-2 in his first six starts for the Twins, with a 4.03 ERA and 4.25 FIP. He gave up five runs in four innings against the Red Sox in his last start and has allowed four homers in his last four outings, three of which were hit by righties.

Vargas is hitting .327 this season against lefties like Prielipp with a .518 wOBA and .455 ISO in the split. He has seven of his 12 homers this season against southpaws and has posted a 60% hard-hit rate and 22.2% barrel rate on that side of the splits.

He has struggled in this series, but has a great chance to turn things around and get back on track. On Sunday in San Francisco, he hit his 11th homer of the year, and he'll look to return to that form on Wednesday night at home against Prielipp.
