2 years agoBoston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara (upper body) and forward Jake DeBrusk (upper body) will not participate in the Bruins Saturday match against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Both players left Boston’s game on Tuesday against the Carolina Panthers and missed the Bruins Thursday night contest against the Florida Panthers due to their injuries. Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron (foot) and defenseman Charlie McAvoy (knee) are also sidelined for Boston. With Boston almost guaranteed a playoff spot, however, don’t expect Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy to rush any of the injured players back into the lineup before they’re fully ready. Expect an update on Chara and DeBrusk after Saturday, as the Bruins will return to action on Monday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.--Alex McKenzie
