Yankees Emerge As Front-Runner For Zach Britton

The New York Yankees have reportedly emerged as the front-runner to land Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton. Fancred's Jon Heyman mentioned that the two teams are in "intense negotiations" while the Athletic's Ken Rosenthal mentions that top prospect Dillon Tate could be involved. No deal is in place yet, but it seems increasingly likely that Britton is dealt to the Yankees. In New York he would function as the setup man to Aroldis Chapman. Britton would lose his fantasy value as he would no longer see save chances, however, he would give the Yankees a lethal combination in the eighth and ninth inning.
