Xander Schauffele Was The Darling Of 2024
4 weeks agoFor most avid golf fans, we knew it was only a matter of getting a big win under the belt for Xander Schauffele to transform into the dominant force he was this season. After winning the PGA Championship in thrilling fashion and finally getting that monkey off his back, the 30-year-old didn't wait long for his second major victory by shooting a final-round, 65 to win the Claret Jug. It was undoubtedly the best season of his career, with two wins, three runner-up finishes, 15 top 10's, and 20 top 25's. Boasting a 10-5-0 record in four previous team competitions, Schauffele is certainly one of the leaders for the U.S. squad at the upcoming President's Cup. His calm demeanor and world-class skillset make him an easy pair with any of the new faces making their first start in team competition. Look for him to do big things at Royal Montreal, and in 2025, as well.
