Wilmer Flores Will Again Be Great For DFS Leagues, Not Redraft
7 years ago26-year-old New York Mets first/second/third baseman Wilmer Flores is coming off a year where he set career-bests across the board, but that doesn’t mean he has a set role for 2018. Flores, who slashed .271/.307/.488 with 18 home runs, 42 RBI, and 52 runs scored across 362 plate appearances in 2017, is once again likely to platoon all around the infield. It’s probably for the best, given Flores’ stark splits. Last season he hit .291/.309/.553 with seven home runs, 15 runs scored, and 13 RBI against lefties in only 110 plate appearances, compared to numbers that don’t prorate nearly as favorably in 252 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers. Flores doesn’t make for much of a hold in season-long leagues, but in DFS formats he’ll once again be an absolutely golden cheap option when the Mets face a southpaw.
