Willson Contreras Enters 2018 As One Of The Game's Top Catchers
7 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will look to build off of a strong 2017 campaign. Despite missing around a month with a right hamstring strain, the catcher still hit .276 with 21 home runs and 76 RBI. He also posted a strong .855 OPS in just 117 games. As long as he is healthy, Contreras should be a top-five catcher entering the 2018 season. In addition to catcher, he has played some outfield and first base, but will not enter the season eligible for either position. If he gains eligibility there, it only adds to his value. Hitting behind Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo, Contreras is in line for a strong season.
