7 years agoKansas City Royals second baseman/ultimate utility man Whit Merrifield pulled his second game of center field duty on Thursday. He’s now played there twice this season, and he could gain qualification there over the next month or two. He’s already seen enough action at right field to qualify as an outfielder in most formats, but for those who play in a league that requires specific positions, it would just add to Merrifield’s value. He also slapped a double in the eighth inning that plated a pair, helping break up an 0-for-13 slump he had been in before Thursday’s game.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
