Wade Davis Throws Bullpen Without Issue
6 years agoColorado Rockies closer Wade Davis threw a bullpen on Friday and felt no ill effects from the work on Saturday, a big step in his recovery from the oblique injury that he suffered on May 14. There's still no announced timetable for Davis, and it's not clear whether he'll need a minor-league rehab assignment, but progress is always a good thing. Davis has only recorded seven saves this year, but that's not due to poor performance on his part. He's been a fine closer for the team, the Rockies just haven't won many close games that didn't involve walk-offs. Once he returns, Davis should go back to being a dependable closer.
