Tyrese Maxey Leads Sixers Offense With 29 Points
2 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had his sixth consecutive 20-point outing Monday against Denver, finishing a 116-111 loss with a game-high 29 points. Both Joel Embiid (calf) and James Harden (Achilles) sat out the contest, which gave all the keys to the offense to Maxey, who finished with 12-for-21 shooting and nailed two of six attempts from deep. Across 34 minutes of action, the 22-year-old added four rebounds, five assists and three steals. Maxey has done superbly since getting back into the start unit, but a lot of the recent games have been played without Harden and his eventual return will have a big impact on how things work in Philadelphia. According to reports, the Beard plans to be back in action later this week.
