Twins Believed To Be Seriously In Play For Carlos Rodon
2 years agoAccording to a tweet from NJ.com's Brendan Kuty on Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins are reportedly "believed to be seriously in play" for Carlos Rodon, though per Kuty's tweet, the Yankees are the free-agent starter's "preferred destination." Kuty tweeted: "FWIW, I'm told the Yankees are Carlos Rodon's preferred destination, but that the Twins and the Cardinals are believed to be seriously in play as of this afternoon." As of now, Minnesota's rotation options include Joe Ryan, Tyler Mahle, Sonny Gray, Kenta Maeda and Bailey Ober, among others. Rodon is obviously no stranger to the American League Central, having spent seven seasons with the Chicago White Sox. He logged a 2.37 ERA and a 2.65 FIP in 132 2/3 innings in his last season for the White Sox in 2021. This past season, the 29-year-old pitched to a 2.88 ERA, a 2.25 FIP, 237 strikeouts and 52 walks in 178 innings for the San Francisco Giants.
