Tua Tagovailoa 2024 Outlook: A Risky QB1 Option Following An Inconsistent 2023 Season
7 months agoIt was an up-and-down fantasy season for Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in 2023. He was a reliable option to start the year but became inconsistent down the stretch. Over the first eight weeks, Tagovailoa averaged 20 fantasy points per game. However, in the final nine games, the gunslinging lefty only averaged 13.8 fantasy points. His strong first half, though, was good enough for the 26-year-old to finish as the QB9 in fantasy. In retrospect, Tagovailoa didn't have a terrible year. He played all 17 games for the first time in his career and threw for a career-high 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns. Still, it's hard to place a ton of confidence in the Dolphins quarterback considering that poor second half. Having Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as his wide receivers surely boosts his fantasy value a little bit, but he will enter the year as a risky QB1 option.
