Trio of Marlins Prospects Named Starters for Southern League All-Star Game
7 years agoThe Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp — the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins —announced on Friday that outfielder Monte Harrison, catcher Rodrigo Vigil and first baseman Eric Jagielo were named starters in the Southern League All-Star game. Harrison leads the Jumbo Shrimp with eight home runs and 91 total bases, while Jagielo is second on the team with six home runs and leads the team with 35 RBI. Vigil has four doubles and one home run for Jacksonville while hitting .230 with a .570 OPS. Harrison is the top prospect in the Marlins system currently, and he could make a push for a spot in Miami's outfield soon, especially with current starting center fielder Lewis Brinson's continued struggles at the plate.
