Trevor Story Starts August With A Bomb
5 years agoIn the bottom of the third inning of Friday's game against the Giants, Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story launched a ball high into the air in center that fell just beyond the reach of center fielder Steven Duggar. The solo shot is a great start to August for Story as he tries to put the doldrums of July behind him. The All-Star hit just .227 during July, his worst month this season by far. The rough month put Story off of the MVP pace that some other National League hitters have carried, but he's still on pace to have another 30/20 season. From a shortstop, that's still an incredible number, especially when he can keep his batting average above .280 along the way.
