The Cleveland Guardians selected second baseman Travis Bazzana from Oregon State with the first overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Bazzana, a 21-year-old native from Sydney, Australia, played at Oregon State for the past three seasons. The infielder held a stellar .407/.568/.911 line with 28 home runs, 66 RBI, and a 76:23 BB:K ratio this past season. His 28 round-trippers this year were a significant improvement over the six and 11 he hit over his first two seasons of college ball, respectively. The left-handed bat also stole 15 bags last season, with a high of 36 in 2023 which shows his potential to contribute in all aspects of the game. His steady improvement through his three seasons at college showcases his elite potential, and he should find himself near the top of most prospect rankings at the start of 2025.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerRead More News
