Denny Hamlin had one of the fastest cars in the field at Michigan International Speedway during Monday's FireKeepers Casino 400, but a problem on pit road combined with running out of time late in the race forced Hamlin into a third-place finish when it was all said and done. During a caution break during the second stage, Hamlin came down pit road for tires and fuel, but he stalled his race car and lost valuable track position. He was able to navigate his way through the field as the race went on, but was never able to get close enough to truly challenge for the win. When talking with Bob Pockrass after the race, Hamlin stated, "Another Michigan race I felt like we were coming on super fast at the end, but too little too late." Monday's third-place result marks Hamlin's sixth straight top-six finish at Michigan.--Jordan McAbee
