Tony Wolters Hit In Neck By Bat
6 years agoColorado Rockies third catcher Tony Wolters took some time with trainers this weekend after Denard Span's bat swung around and smacked Wolters in the neck. With a history of concussions, Wolters' injury drew concern from the trainers because the bat appeared to glance off his helmet, but he told reporters after the game that the glancing blow didn't hurt his head at all, just his neck. Wolters seemed to be okay and didn't leave the game, but expect the team to be cautious with their defensive catcher. Wolters receives the least playing time in the three-headed monster the Rockies are currently using behind the plate, but he's recently gotten hot with the bat and can still have some value in extremely deep leagues.
