Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has been suspended for 20 games after an illegal check to the head to St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist. Wilson was already on thin ice after some questionable plays in the playoffs and last season. While the hit itself wasn't his worst for sure, and most likely would've been a one or two game suspension for a first-time offender, this was the result of numerous risky, dangerous plays by Wilson and the league wanted to make sure Wilson knew. The newly signed forward with the Capitals will forfeit $1,260,162.20 in salary. Wilson had the potential to be a huge penalty minute and hits contributor along with scoring over 40 points, but now, those ambitions are likely over as him being suspended for 20 games is too long to hold a dead roster spot. He was slated to start on the first line with Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov, and most likely will fall back into that position upon return. He's droppable in all formats and should be picked up once again in banger formats once the suspension is nearly over.--Caden
