11 months agoColorado Rockies catcher Tom Murphy was just recalled from Triple-A on Tuesday, and he showed up with a bang by smacking three hits, including his first major league extra-base hit in nearly a year. Murphy was once a top prospect who suffered an unfortunately timed wrist fracture days before he was supposed to begin setting the majors on fire. After a couple years of recovery, he's finally back and ready to roll. He's still not very good defensively, so it remains to be seen how much playing time he'll actually get, but his bat packs a ton of pop and should get him in the lineup at every opportunity. His presence in the majors is bad news for both Chris Iannetta and Tony Wolters.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
