New Jersey Devils winger Timo Meier recorded his fifth career hat trick and posted an assist as the team picked up a comfortable 4-1 win over St. Louis on Thursday. The Swiss star started the scoring with a power-play tally and potted all of New Jersey's first three goals before Erik Haula iced the game with an empty-netter in the final minute that gave Meier his 16th assist of the season. Meier has now scored in four consecutive games and boasts a five-game point streak, but it's surely too little too late. He's had a disappointing campaign overall, and the team has also been awful for most of the year. In 50 games, Meier has contributed only 17 goals and 16 assists. Nine of his 33 points have come during Meier's current scoring streak.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
