Thomas White 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Potential Rookie Of The Year Candidate If Control Improves
The Marlins continue to develop and trade away starting pitchers. More offseason moves have left Miami's rotation looking a little sparse, and Thomas White could be the next Marlins starting pitcher to emerge as a star. White made 21 starts between Double-A and Triple-A last year, totalling 89 2/3 innings. He struck out 145 batters with a 2.31 ERA. Those numbers will catch the eye of any fantasy manager. The downside was that White also had a 13.6% BB% last year. That was up from the 9.2% BB% he had in 2024, his first full year as a pro. The elevated walks get neutralized by White's strikeouts. There's no reason to believe that can't translate into some success in the Majors. Even more so if he can cut down the walks a bit. White will more than likely start the season in the Minors, but if he continues to strikeout batters at a similar rate this year, it won't be long before we see him in Miami. And when he gets the call, White will be one of the most popular in-season pick-ups. So, taking him at the end of your draft and stashing him could pay dividends.
