6 years agoDetroit Red Wings left wing Thomas Vanek drove home a power-play marker for his first goal (and point) of the season during Monday's 7-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens. He also had seven hits in the contest. The 34-year-old was surprisingly productive in 2017-18 with 24 goals and 32 assists in 80 games split between Vancouver and Columbus. Vanek only has six shots so far this season to go along with a dismal -8 rating. Aside from his pugnacious display on Monday, he had two hits in the prior five games. He offers no peripherals and is currently scoring at an abysmal rate. There are far better options to add to a fantasy team.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
