Tanner Scott Survives Rally to Record 18th Save
Tanner Scott worked in and out of trouble on Friday to notch save No. 18 in a 5-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals. After striking out Bobby Witt Jr. to start the bottom of the ninth, Scott loaded the bases on two singles and a walk. Jac Caglianone came to the plate with a chance to tie or win the game, but Scott got him to ground into a double play to end it. Scott has blown five save opportunities this season, but his most recent one came back on May 28. He has converted seven straight saves since then and has surrendered a meager two earned runs in 13 1/3 innings in June. That's more along the lines of what the Dodgers and fantasy managers expected from Scott entering the season. Overall, the 30-year-old has recorded a 3.46 ERA with 42:6 K:BB and a 1.03 WHIP in 39 innings.
