Tanner Roark Agrees to Terms With the Blue Jays
5 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays signed free-agent starting pitcher Tanner Roark to a two-year, $24 million contract on Wednesday. Roark will slide right into the Blue Jays rotation. Toronto has been "in" on several free-agent starters, but Roark is the first they have been able to sign. Roark put up a 4.35 ERA and a 158:51 strikeout-to-walk ratio in a solid 2019 season. Moving to the American League East rarely helps any pitchers, but Roark should remain a solid back-of-the-rotation starter in most fantasy formats. But he'll also have a more volatile floor in Toronto's hitter-friendly ballpark.
