Sung-Mun Song 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Utility Man May Play Himself Into Relevancy
Sung-Mun Song signed a four-year deal with the Padres this offseason. He's expected to fill in all over the diamond and even in the outfield, as the Padres will look to utilize Song's versatility. His playing time will be helped by being a left-handed hitter, something the Padres don't have an abundance of. The Padres will also be keen to give Song every chance to replicate his numbers from the KBO over the previous two seasons. In 2024, Song hit .340/.409/.518 with 19 home runs and 21 stolen bases (142 games). In 2025, Song hit .315/.387/.530 with career highs in homers (26) and steals (25) over 144 games. Whilst no one is expecting a 20/20 season or a .300 batting average in 2026, Song should reach double-digits in home runs and stolen bases while hitting for a solid batting average. If Song is able to adjust to the Major Leagues quickly, he should have no problem finding regular playing time and should gain multi-position eligibility during the season. Song isn't going to put up eye-catching numbers. However, Song could easily become a versatile option in deeper leagues who contributes at whatever position you plug him into.
