Steven Matz Solid In Loss Sunday
7 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz pitched well enough to win Sunday, but his offense didn't come through for him. Matz went seven innings giving up two runs on five hits and two walks Sunday against the Cubs. He also struck seven batters out. Matz has actually been a pretty solid pitcher over the last month sporting a 2.32 ERA with three quality starts in that span. Though he isn't a must start or even must add at the moment, his recent success is encouraging and he should be owned in more than 18% of leagues. Matz is set to take on the Yankees next Saturday, so he's still a risky start for now.
