Sonny Gray Strikes Out Eight In Lopsided Loss
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Sonny Gray allowed four runs (three earned) over 4 2/3 innings in a 17-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Gray struck out eight and walked one while giving up two homers in the start. It wasn't Gray's finest outing of the season, but much of the credit for the lopsided loss can be given to the Cincinnati bullpen, which allowed 13 runs after his departure. Gray now has a 1-4 record, 3.64 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts over 47 innings of work. Fantasy gamers will want to continue to tab Gray for their starting lineups when he faces off against the St. Louis Cardinals next time out.
