New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Saturday's game against San Jose. It looks like he is ready to rejoin the lineup after a seven-game absence. Holmstrom is not known as a regular scorer, but he was enjoying a prolific spell just before getting hurt. The 23-year-old has bagged two goals and seven points over his last seven appearances. For the season overall, Holmstrom has contributed nine goals and 13 assists in 37 games. He is expected to jump on the third line to fill in for Maxim Tsyplakov, who starts a three-game suspension on Saturday.--Taavi Pailk
