Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani has moved up one spot in the batting order for Friday's game against the Royals. Ohtani has hit eighth so far this season, but will hit seventh on Friday against right-hander Jason Hammel, with Andrelton Simmons dropping down to eighth. Ohtani was intentionally walked on Thursday, which forced a Martin Maldonado flyout. It's possible the Angels are trying to give Ohtani a cushion with Simmons behind him. Either way, it will give Ohtani more at-bats in the long run and a better opportunity for runs and RBI, which is never a bad thing.--patton
