Shohei Ohtani 2021 Fantasy Outlook: Fantasy Enigma With Endless Question Marks
4 years agoThere were few developments more disappointing in 2020 than Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani's season as a pitcher coming to an end after just two outings. That was not even the end of the disappointment list for the Angels two-way player, as he was pretty pathetic at the plate as well with a .190/.291/.366 slash line in 175 plate appearances. The plan for 2021 is the same as it's always been: To give Ohtani one start on the mound per week and let him serve as the designated hitter in between those starts. It is possible that his disastrous 2020 season can be attributed to a lack of health. If that is the answer, he could very well be the most valuable player in fantasy in leagues where you can use him as both a hitter and a pitcher. The raw talent is unmatched, and has been on display this spring. Ohtani has flashed elite sprint speed, has hit multiple 470 foot home runs, and his fastball has touched 100mph in Cactus League play. You should buy that lottery ticket.
