The Ottawa Senators have signed free agent Vladimir Tarasenko to a one-year, $5 million deal. The contract includes a full no-trade clause. Tarasenko was one of the top free agents remaining on the market, and according to The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford, there were a number of teams interested in him, including Florida, San Jose, and Carolina. However, Ottawa won the race for Tarasenko's services. The 31-year-old winger is coming off a quiet campaign during which he totaled only 50 points (18 goals, 32 assists) in 69 games split between the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers. For his entire career, Tarasenko has managed 270 goals and 574 points in 675 games. Tarasenko is only a season removed from a career-high 82 points, and he should do well for a Senators team that averaged 3.16 goals per game last term.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
