New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield (lower body) is considered day-to-day. He sustained a lower-body injury against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday and missed Sunday's clash against the Florida Panthers. The day-to-day status suggests that Mayfield is not dealing with anything serious, but he could still remain out on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights. Mayfield is on track to register a seventh consecutive season with 100-plus blocks and has recorded 71 hits in 50 games. Offensively, he has contributed two goals and five assists. Dennis Cholowski is set to remain in the lineup on Tuesday if Mayfield can't play. Playing for the first time in five games, Cholowski picked up a pair of assists on Sunday. He has totaled 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 30 games for the season.--Taavi Pailk
