Samuel Ersson Tries To Extend Winning Streak Versus Red Wings
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson will head out for a fifth consecutive win on Tuesday against Detroit. After recovering from a lower-body injury, Ersson suffered a 4-1 defeat against Dallas when he returned to the crease on Jan. 9. However, he has matched his career-best winning streak since, logging one shutout and allowing seven goals across four games. Ersson has improved to 13-7-2 and has a 2.79 goals-against average for the campaign. He boasts two shutouts and has registered a .889 save percentage. Detroit has recently gone cold again, dropping three of the past four games, but Ersson struggled massively in his previous appearance in the matchup. The Swedish netminder gave up five goals on 23 shots in a 6-4 defeat in Detroit on Dec. 18.
