Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced en route to defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday evening. The Flyers were heavily outshot in this contest, but Ersson was able to lead the way. He allowed his first goal to Pittsburgh defenseman Erik Karlsson in the second frame and his second goal to Anthony Beauvillier in the third. This outing snapped a three-game slump for Ersson. During this stretch, he held a 0-2-1 record and allowed at least three goals in each contest. Prior to that stretch, Ersson posted an impressive 6-1 record with a .918 percent SV and a 2.13 GAA over his previous eight contests. The 25-year-old will look to carry this momentum into their first game out of the international break against the Edmonton Oilers.--Andy Smith
