Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault will start Saturday's matchup against the New Jersey Devils. He will make his 40th start of the campaign, looking to record a second consecutive victory. On Tuesday night, Montembeault defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-3 with a 27-save performance. He has allowed three or more goals in eight of his 10 starts since the turn of the year. Montembeault's recent struggles have dropped his record to 18-19-3. He boasts three shutouts with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. Montembeault has yet to win back-to-back starts in 2025 and faces a tricky matchup on Saturday against a talented offense that averages 3.04 goals per game.--Taavi Pailk
