Salvador Perez Could Return On Sunday
6 months agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (knee) has a knee sprain and inflammation but could return to the lineup for the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Perez exited Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with discomfort in his right knee. He underwent an MRI on Saturday, which revealed a minor sprain and inflammation. The 34-year-old is undergoing treatment and could return to the lineup Sunday or Tuesday against the Oakland A's. The veteran backstop is considered day-to-day. Perez is slashing .297/.375/.490 with 11 home runs, 45 RBI, and 27 runs across 280 plate appearances in 2024. Austin Nola and MJ Melendez will handle catcher duties for the Royals until Perez returns to action.
