Salvador Perez Back In Action
1 year agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (foot) is returning to catching duties and batting cleanup on Tuesday against right-hander Kenta Maeda and the Minnesota Twins. Perez was hit by a pitch on his foot on Sunday and took the day off on Monday, but the injury wasn't serious at all and he's back in there for the Fourth of July. The 33-year-old All-Star backstop has just four career at-bats against Maeda and is hitting .250 against him. Perez does have a hit in each of his last two games, but he's gone 2-for-27 (.074) with one RBI and nine strikeouts in his last seven games. Overall, though, he remains one of the better hitting catchers in fantasy with a .253/.290/.451 slash line, 15 home runs, 40 RBI and 36 runs scored in 297 at-bats in 2023.
