5/11:Washington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman (back) was left out of Thursday's contest against Arizona despite Dave Martinez's insistence that he was available to pinch hit. Zimmerman had a sore back that flared up when he slid into home on Wednesday and the day off was meant to help. With Zimmerman's injury history and slow start to the season, it's likely the team will give him plenty of time to recuperate. Matt Adams, his replacement, has been tearing the cover off the ball anyway. Zimmerman's been hitting balls with exit velocities topping 100 mph mostly for outs, so there's a positive regression coming. He's still a good buy-low target.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
