Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) was placed on the injured list on Wednesday, retroactive September 17. This is a tough blow to the O's roster that is heading towards the postseason. Luckily, Orioles' manager Brandon Hyde said on Saturday that he believes Mountcastle's injured list stint will be minimal. Mountcastle was able to take some batting practice on Saturday and field grounders as well. He won't be eligible to return until Wednesday, but will hopefully be back in the lineup soon. In the meantime, Ryan O'Hearn should continue seeing increased playing time at first base.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
