Ryan Mountcastle 2024 Player Outlook: Safety Supporting Value
9 months agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle might not find his name atop any offensive leaderboards but he does provide a safe floor. The 27-year-old is coming off a season in which he hit .270 with 18 home runs and a .780 OPS across 115 games played. He appeared in 144 games in 2021 and 145 in 2022 as his 18 homers from the 2023 season is a 23-homer pace in that range. And that's right about where he is projected to land in the 2024 season as ATC projects 22 home runs alongside a .264 average and 73 RBI across 128 games played. He's not a premier power-hitting first baseman but he should provide another solid floor in terms of home runs and run production. His 238.38 ADP is a reasonable one as a solid corner infielder option.
