Roquan Smith 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Poised For Another Big Year
1 year agoBaltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith experienced a huge breakout season in 2023, ascending to the very top tier of fantasy linebackers in his fifth season in the NFL, a position he should maintain in 2023. He was productive the first half of the season in Chicago and the second half of the season after he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He averaged 17.0 points per game from Weeks 1-8 in Fantasy Pros' scoring system and 14.3 points per game from Weeks 9-17. The slight decrease was not due to any letdown in his play. In fact, Smith graded significantly better in Baltimore than in Chicago. He just played slightly fewer snaps in Baltimore, which utilized more of a rotation than Chicago. He averaged 63.3 snaps per game in the Windy City and 59.2 snaps per game in the Charm City. He was still the leader of the Ravens' defense, and he continues to be one of the best linebackers for IDP purposes. With very high tackle numbers and a respectable number of interceptions and sacks mixed in, Smith is an elite IDP option in leagues using all kinds of scoring formats.
