Though the seventh-ranked Rogerio Bontorin was able to keep the fight close for the judges, he was not able to do quite enough to defeat the fifth-ranked Brandon Royval on Saturday night. Covering 15 minutes of action, Bontorin only landed 28 significant strikes (39 total strikes) compared to Royval's 80 total strikes. The takedown department was a whole different story, though, with Bontorin going 8-for-9 on his takedowns, while Royval didn't even attempt a single takedown. Despite the loss, Bontorin has looked impressive in the UFC and should continue to be a rising star.--Matt Bricker
